COVID-19 and Working from Home

Throughout lockdown our employees have been working from home. Although this position is primarily office-based, whilst travel and working restrictions remain you will be temporarily required to work full-time from home. Please apply only if you are in a position to do so.

The Role

Sotic are looking for a talented Junior Web Designer to assist in creating amazing user experiences.

As a Web Designer you will be working alongside our Build team to design high-quality responsive websites for major sports tournaments and organisations. The successful candidate will be able to translate client and user requirements into concepts, prototypes and intuitive and functional designs.

You will have a keen eye for clean, modern web design, exceptional user interface design skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to grow and adapt. Proactive, creative and confident, you will have the ability to share and articulate ideas and concepts and will be comfortable working to deadlines.

You will join an exciting and dynamic team with a strong focus on continuous improvement and optimisation, taking an innovative content-led approach to web design.

Responsibilities

Work with the Senior Designer to assist in delivering beautiful and functional UI across a range of client websites Take part in brainstorming and ideation sessions Sketch wireframes and user journeys Work with developers to create assets and style guides Support the Senior Designer to create mock-ups and interactive prototypes Ensure that user experience is at the heart of every design decision Communicate effectively with each department Conduct design adjustments based on user and client feedback

Essential Requirements

Formal education in a relevant subject Up-to-date knowledge of design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Ability to brainstorm and generate ideas at a fast pace Good understanding of user experience requirements Able to adhere to style standards on fonts, colours and images Excellent problem-solver Collaborative team-player A desire to learn A keen eye for detail Up-to-date knowledge of web design trends

Desirable Requirements

Experience with Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma (or similar) Experience with Adobe After Effects (or similar) Experience working with developers Experience with responsive design

Salary and Location

£24,000 per annum for a 37.5 hour week, with an expectation of 7.5 hours per day, to be based at our office in Cardiff (CF10)

Sotic is a flexible employer. Once the current restrictions are lifted, this role could be considered on a partial work-from-home basis.
