JavaScript Developer

Full-time Big Lemon - Anywhere

Do you want to be part of a growing team who are passionate, curious, and super-skilled?

We’re looking for a brilliant developer to join our mission to change people’s lives with tech. Our team knows their stuff and we’re proud of the impact our technology has. If you're a self-starter with the ability to creatively solve technical problems, we'd love to hear from you!

Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Remote (South Wales/SW England preferably)

We’re looking for a JavaScript developer skilled in Node.js, with experience using AWS. Additional experience with frontend libraries like React or React Native is a massive boon. We’re expecting a minimum of 3 years experience as a JavaScript developer, but who you are is much more important.

We’re looking for someone deeply curious about the development world. You should be a proactive problem solver with a positive and supportive vibe. As a small team, we work very closely, so communicating well should be important to you.

That being said, there are a few expected tasks that the role includes:

  • Working with the team to implement solutions to complex problems
  • Building and maintaining secure APIs (REST and GraphQL)
  • Articulating decisions with the team and clients
  • Using with AWS services like Amplify, Cognito, Lambda, AppSync, CloudFormation, S3
  • Mapping and optimising database schemas (DynamoDB, MongoDB, MySQL)
  • Using Git to version control all your code
  • Working in Agile-based sprints

We’re offering an opportunity to grow as a person at a small company where everyone has a part to play. Personal development and wellbeing is an important part of our culture. We try to fit side hustles and R&D projects whenever possible to keep the creative juices flowing. Flexible hours, 25 days leave plus birthday and bank holidays off, 2-week shut down for Christmas, private healthcare for your family, regular team meetups (when we can), pension, care packages, new equipment and a home-office budget is all included.

If this role sounds perfect for you, we want to hear from you. Send over a short introduction about who you are and your experience, with anything you think is relevant to the application. Feel free to send links to things you’ve built, Github profiles, introduction videos, a portfolio site, or a CV.

You can email us at [email protected] before 10pm on the 13th of September. You’ll receive an automated email with some quick coding challenges for us to gauge where you’re at. It shouldn’t take any longer than 30 minutes or so to complete. Good luck!

Agencies: sigh It’s not you, it’s us. We’ve told you for years that we’re not interested, and now we have exclusivity with another agency. Sorry. If you still must contact us, send something to [email protected].
