Creative Designer

Full-time Imprint in Cardiff

Imprint are the large format printing division of Pureprint Group; a world class print and marketing services group. We deliver enhanced experiences across all types of print in retail marketing. The Imprint creative team are based in-house within our client offices, to provide a reactive and seamless service.

We are looking for a passionate Creative Designer to join our in-house design team, based within the marketing department at Peacocks in Cardiff. The role requires a confident designer who can combine strategy, creativity and retail knowledge to deliver engaging marketing campaigns, in store environments and experiences.

It goes without saying that you’ll be an experienced creative with a natural design flair who is able to deliver strong brand ideas. As a creative designer, you’ll play a key role in delivering exciting, high-profile projects. Working closely with the client as part of their internal team, you’ll work across the entire creative process, from concept through to design implementation, across multiple channels, artwork and production, for a variety of retail marketing projects. You’ll be keen to make an impact beyond your job title and have exceptional visual and communication skills.

This is a hands on, fast paced role, where you will not only be designing concepts, but have the ability to visualise your designs and produce print ready artwork, so a high level of skill in Adobe Creative Suite is essential. You’ll need to be a confident designer who is comfortable communicating to the client at all levels, and able to manage your own time effectively. It’s important you can demonstrate a clear passion for design within the fashion and retail sector, and you’ll have a strong portfolio that you will present at interview.


This role will require you to…


  • Work collaboratively with the client, account manager and in-house design team to concept and develop ideas for seasonal marketing campaigns.
  • Design and deliver key creative and commercial messages, to include a variety of projects including window displays, instore POS, lookbooks, promotional and event literature, magazine advertisements, internal documents and local marketing.
  • Take and develop briefs from the client, so you’ll need to be an excellent communicator who is able to then deliver direction to anyone else involved.
  • Manage your workflow of projects through the studio, ensuring all work is completed by the deadline.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of artworking for print, with the ability to take projects from initial concept through to final print ready files where required.
  • Present and discuss ideas in design critiques and attend client product meetings, so you’ll be happy to take and give feedback.
  • Have a keen awareness for fashion and retail trends to ensure all creative is current, exciting and maintains customer engagement.


Skills you will have…


  • A degree in Graphic Design or similar.
  • 3 years+ experience working within an agency or design focused environment.
  • Experience of marketing design is desirable along with an understanding of retail space and customer journeys.
  • Although primarily a print-based role, you will have an ability to deliver creative ideas across multiple channels.
  • Collaborative skills to work closely with the retail client and the internal design team.
  • A natural eye for typography, colour, layout, photography and branding.
  • A first-class knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • Print process/production knowledge is desirable.
  • Retouching skills would be beneficial.
  • An ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritise workload under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of all office applications.
  • Mac user.

This is an office based (currently with Covid19 regulations in place), full time role Monday - Friday. Salary to be discussed dependant on experience, up to 25K.
